I’m Jael Awuor, a Legal Operations Specialist and founder of The LegalVA Hub. My work focuses on how legal matters move through a law firm, from intake to resolution, and where communication, workflow, and follow-through begin to break down. I believe operational clarity creates better outcomes for firms, teams, and clients alike.

Every law firm has systems, whether they were designed intentionally or formed over time. As caseloads grow, small gaps become recurring problems. Missed follow-ups. Delayed communication. Work that slows down between stages. My work begins by paying attention to those patterns, because improving a workflow starts with understanding how it actually behaves.
Where work changes hands is where problems often begin.
A missed follow-up. A file that sits untouched for days. A client calling because they are unsure what happens next. On their own, these seem like isolated issues. Together, they often point to something deeper, a workflow that is losing momentum between stages.
I pay attention to those handoffs. How work moves from one person to another. How information travels. What gets delayed, overlooked, or forgotten. Understanding those patterns is often the first step toward improving them.

The way I think about legal work
I didn’t begin with the title “Legal Operations Specialist.” I began by noticing patterns.
Across different matters, different firms, and different workflows, the same operational challenges kept appearing. Files stalled. Follow-ups slipped. Communication broke down. Matters slowed between stages rather than within them.
Those observations shaped how I approach legal work today. I focus on the systems behind the work, the processes that help matters move with greater clarity, consistency, and accountability.
That same thinking eventually led me to build something beyond my own work.

I founded The LegalVA Hub to help aspiring Legal Virtual Assistants and Legal Support Professionals develop practical skills through structured legal workflows, real case scenarios, and operational thinking.
